A New Barack Beginning!

What an amazing night last night! It was wonderful. I cried for two hours, from when they decided that all the networks were going to call the election for Obama right up to the end of Obama’s speech.

I was also very moved by McCain’s extremely gracious and graceful concession speech. He reminded us why he was a good candidate. If he had been more like that and less like he was over the past couple of months, the election may have gone differently.

But I’m sure glad it went the way it did. I’m going to practice: PRESIDENT OBAMA. I want to get used to saying that. I want to say President Obama at least ten times a day. I’m thinking of sending a second puppy to the White House after January 20th, so each of his adorable daughters can have her own.

Though this may not be strictly relevant politically (though this is debatable — but a subject for another day/post) let me ask you: have you ever seen a lovelier looking First Family? I mean, they’re all gorgeous! Barack, Michelle, and those two little girls! They’re beautiful. And I love the way they’re always displaying their affection for each other. That’s what we need from our leader.

First Family

I’m politically in love with Obama and his whole family, I would like to state this for the record.

I want to feel that anything is possible again. As my dear friend Mario says, what Barack is reminding us of is that the two greatest values we have are love and hope.

This post is part of the series, Obama Election. See the rest!

I’m in love, too! It’s so exhilarating. The beauty radiates from the inside, which is what makes Barack and his family so beautiful. And, I trust him. When has anyone ever said that about a politician?! He exudes integrity and while it will surely be a long road with super tough challenges, I believe his integrity + his intelligence = infinite possibility. If it’s about hope, well then hope rules a land forever green (not sure where I got that, but it’s not original). And, since green is the new black, we’re right on track! One more thing (somewhat nonsequitur), my favorite new quote from Bill Withers: “You can’t get to wonderful without passing through alright.” I believe we are on our way to wonderful! xo

Thanks for the great comment, and I loved the video with Bill Withers et al. It is lovely! Thank you for sharing your views, I couldn’t agree more. When have you been able to say, not only do I think he is a good politician, but I think he is a good man?!?!? It’s amazing!
