Thank you for clicking through to my Twitter landing page. My real name is Ilaria and my online handle is Swimturtle. I have a tattoo of a turtle on my arm and the turtle has become my universal avatar. I am half American and half Italian, from New York and Florence (the two most wonderful cities in the world), so I tweet in two languages. If you don't speak any Italian, now is a perfect time to take a class. Remember, it's the language of poetry!
I tweet about my interests, which range from architecture, interior and industrial design, to literature, reading, writing, to movies, plays, screenplays, to Web 2.0 stuff - and then of course I tweet about my life and I talk to friends near and far, some that I only know from Twitter and some that I know in the flesh, and now some that I met on Twitter and NOW know in the flesh. I have two blogs that I invite you to check out.
Turtle^Haus
Turtle^haus is a blog about how we can improve the quality of our lives by reconnecting with stories: our own, those we read in books, those we see in movies and plays, and those revealed by the spaces we inhabit. Among the posts you will find interviews with writers and moviegoers, house tours, book and play reviews, and social experiments with social media tools like Twitter! There is lots of fun to be had and good advice on how to live fuller, richer lives by being the protagonists of our own life story.
Life+Web
Life plus Web is a blog about computers and the internet and how we can make friends with them. These days no one can afford not to know how to use the computer, yet there are many among us, of all ages and levels of competency, who somehow failed to pick up some basic skills. It can be hard to swallow our pride and admit that we don't quite know what a homepage is, what an RSS feed is or how to upload a document using the ftp protocol. And not knowing can be scary. If you need to apply for a job, you need to know these things, or at the very least, you need to know how to find them out. That's what we are here for. In this blog you will find explanatory posts, tutorial videos, screen shots and more. Our goal is to banish fear and make the learning process as enjoyable as possible. We strive to give our readers tools that will make their digital lives easier and more fun! Enjoy!
